UK Summer Camps at top British boarding schools

Give your child an amazing learning experience this summer.

We are proud to work closely with leading British boarding schools and Summer Schools to help international families select the best, most suitable summer vacation experiences and opportunities for their children.

What are British Summer Schools?

Summer Schools (or Camps as they’re known in the US) provide a safe, stimulating and enjoyable experience for children of all ages from age 7 upwards. We source places at a diverse range of Summer Schools to provide your child with the opportunity to attend a residential Summer Camp at an impressive UK boarding school.

These are different from US summer camps. The courses run from 1 – 6 weeks and we advise on, and select, courses according to the age of your child and any preferences or requirements. Summer courses vary in terms of academic expectation, the focus on English language learning and development and additional opportunities to focus on sports and cultural activities.

English language courses: Students will usually have at least 15 hours a week of immersive classes, taught at an appropriate level by teachers with ‘English as an Additional Language’ qualifications. All students also have a timetable to include a wide range of activities, sports for enjoyment and visits to UK places of cultural interest, theme parks and more (depending on the course and location). And they still have time for a great social life and meeting new friends!

Courses preparing for British school entry: If you are planning for your child to study full-time at a British school in the future, these residential courses give children the opportunity to experience living in a British boarding school for a few weeks, while improving their English and studying several academic subjects. They still have time for a great social life, activities, sports and cultural visits.

Academic and Enrichment courses: Courses are available in general academic subjects, or for IGCSE, ‘A’ level and IB course preparation and guidance. All courses include English as a focus to ensure that a student’s use of the language is developing alongside their academic learning.

Sports and Creative Arts (Art, Music, Drama) courses: Open to talented and interested students with a passion for sports, music, art or drama.

Many different sports courses are available including football, cricket, horse-riding, tennis, swimming and golf. Spending some of the summer vacation being trained and coached by professionals with other students with the same interest and commitment can be a very enjoyable and rewarding holiday activity.

Music courses are available for talented instrumentalists and singers, joining with others to learn and make music together, often culminating in a concert. Students should note that a minimum standard (based on AMRSM exams) will be required on the instrument you are learning, or your singing abilities.

Drama and Arts courses will usually request some evidence of a student’s abilities and interest in the selected course.

If my child loves Summer Camp, can they apply to study in the UK full-time?

One of the best things about coming to a British Summer School is the opportunity it gives to children and older students to live in a well-known British boarding school, albeit for just a few weeks in a more relaxed environment. Nothing compares with this ‘lived’ experience, on a beautiful and safe campus socialising with many other international students all going through the same educational journey.

Then maybe you start to consider the next question: Can they have the opportunity of studying full-time at school here in the UK? How can you help them gain internationally recognised academic qualifications (GCSE, ‘A” levels and IB), allowing them to apply to some of the most well-known British, US and EU universities, and others too, if they wish.

This is where our knowledge and educational experience working in, and with leading British schools for over 25 years, helps our family clients. Your child’s future is at the heart of all that we set out to do as we match each student to the best, most suitable schools for them, so that they secure places at impressive schools, are happy, fulfilled and successful so that ultimately, they achieve and make you, and themselves, proud.
