EXPLORE. GROW. EXCEL

Established in 1868, Trent College is an excellent independent boarding school located in the heart of England, providing a first-class secondary school and Sixth Form education.

Situated on the border of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, Trent College benefits from easy access to international airports including Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester.  With the rolling hills of the Peak District just a short drive away and the vibrant city of Nottingham close by, students benefit from access to the best of country and urban life.

Our beautiful 45 acre campus provides the perfect setting for talent and creativity to thrive. Students explore, grow and excel in an environment which is as warm and caring as it is exciting and stimulating. Every day is a chance to discover new passions and skills, preparing for a future filled with possibilities.

Trent College delivers an authentic British boarding school experience where only 7% of our students are from overseas. We provide a first class education immersed in the English language, culture and way of life. Our diverse school community brings together young people from over 20 nationalities, offering a safe and nurturing environment.

Go Further

At Trent College our aim is to help all pupils to go further, with the belief that with the right support and opportunities, every child can achieve their personal best.

We offer GCSEs, IGCSEs, BTEC and A-levels, alongside the increasingly popular EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) which is highly regarded by universities.

Our expert careers guidance offers enhanced support, ensuring a smooth transition to life beyond school.

We champion every individual by understanding what makes them perform to the very best of their ability. Our small class sizes nurture talent, creating confident learners who can achieve their full potential.

Welcoming Boarding Community

Trent College delivers an authentic British boarding school experience with a culture of respect, kindness and tolerance at the heart of our welcoming community.

Our warm and welcoming boarding community houses students from across the globe, offering a true home-from-home environment.  With separate houses for younger boarders (Years 7 - 11) and Sixth Formers, the close-knit community offers enhanced support, encouragement and full integration into every aspect of school life.

Each house has an exceptional team of staff with a shared commitment to enabling children to go further than they thought possible.

Our Boarders’ Activity Programme encourages students to make the most of their free time in the evenings and at weekends. Weekly social outings together with on-site activities, including themed food & film nights, provide a wealth of opportunities for students build meaningful, lifelong friendships.

Explore the Possibilities

We welcome students who wish to join us for their complete education along with those who wish to experience a short term stay.  We are delighted to offer students a minimum stay of two terms, with the flexibility to extend their stay if desired.

To apply students should submit their latest school reports and a copy of their passport – we will then arrange for entrance tests in Maths & English (along with subject specific tests for A Level entry).  An interview via Skype completes the application process.

“Friendships matter at Trent, I have friends from all years and all backgrounds, from many different countries. This has made me a confident person with a better understanding of life”

Matt, Head of House, Lower Sixth Form, United Kingdom

“At Trent College, I always have something to do – my day is never boring! I can play football after school and I have time to do my homework. It is a challenge to study in English but I have lots of help. In my boarding house we do a lot of activities at weekends and I have made lots of friends – everyone is so nice!”

Sacha, Year 10, France.

“Studying at Trent College has been a wonderful experience.  From the first day of school, I have been surrounded with friendly classmates in a cordial environment.  The teachers are very supportive and have helped me enormously in my studies. The boarding experience is one I will never forget; with fun activities every weekend, and a cosy room which is like a second home to me. I truly look forward to completing my studies at Trent College.”
